Our First Time to the Beach Day 1

Ft.Walton/Destin Florida

This year we decided to go to the beach for the first time with the Stewarts. The Stewarts go almost every year, so they knew exactly what to do and where to go. We left Wednesday around 4:00 A.M.. We met the Stewarts at Dierks and headed out for the exciting journey. We left so early so the kids would sleep most of the way. I was pretty nervous about how Samuel would ride, but he did great! Teralee did wonderful also. The first day of our vacation we stopped in Mobile, Alabama to tour the USS Alabama and the USS Drum. The battleship literally took my breath away the first time I saw it! It was so huge! Samuel and Teralee had a great time on the battleship running around. Samuel also fell off of a stool while we were there. We also toured the USS Drum. Robert and I were both in awe, because we had never toured a submarine or a battleship. Samuel really seemed to enjoy both. I think he just had fun getting to stretch his legs and chase Teralee around. After we left the USS Alabama Memorial Park, we had dinner. It was getting so late, we decided to drive just a little bit longer to Pensacola,Florida and spend the night there. We had a great first day of vacation.

**I have to mention the tunnel. We had to go through a tunnel in Mobile I think. Samuel was so funny. He was awake, and he had been looking around and jabbering. When we started through the tunnel, he got really still. His eyes got real big. I thought he was going to start crying, but he didnt. The look on his face was, "Where have you taken me Momma, and what is this?" It was too funny!
